Robert L. Meredith, 77

EASTON, Md. - Robert Lee Meredith, of Easton, passed away in his home on Friday, Feb. 2, 2007. He was 77.

He was born Nov. 11, 1929, in Federalsburg, son of the late Lee and Louise (Gadow) Meredith.

Mr. Meredith was a 1946 graduate of Federalsburg High School.

He served his country in the Merchant Marine for two years and continued his service in the U.S. Navy from 1948 until 1952.

He worked for Choptank Electric Corp. for 37 years and retired from the Salisbury office as district manager. While district manager he belonged to the Chamber of Commerce and Wicomico Electrical Board and the I.E.E.E.

Mr. Meredith was a member of Federalsburg Veterans Foreign Wars Post 5246, the Salisbury American Legion Post 64, and the Easton Moose Lodge 1520.

He was preceded in death by his brother, James Meredith.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline Ivins Meredith; a son, Ronald Lee Meredith Sr. of Salisbury; four grandchildren, Ronald Lee Meredith Jr. of Preston, Jo Ann Murphy of Linkwood, Phillip Meredith of Salisbury, and Cpl. Michael Lee Meredith stationed in Iraq; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, Justin, Amber, Serrea, Rick, Robbie, and Ariel.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in Framptom Funeral Home, Federalsburg.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday in the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery Chapel. The Rev. Walter Wood will officiate.

Burial will follow.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Talbot Hospice House, 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD 21601.
