Robert David Clendaniel

MILFORD - Robert David "Bob" Clendaniel, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018 at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford.
Bob was born in Milford the son of the late Joshua and Sallie (Dawson) Clendaniel. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard of Delaware. Bob worked for 25 years at Wharton & Barnard, Inc. in Milford as a warehouse manager and salesman. In 1989, Bob decided to establish his own auto parts business, known as Midway Auto Parts. First located in Lewes, Bob moved the company to Milton, and has continuously operated his business along with his son John until becoming ill. He was a member of the Temple Masonic Lodge # 9, AF & AM of Milford and a member of the Scottish Rite. Bob loved attending auctions and could be found helping Dave Wilson at Wilson's Auction for many years.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Clendaniel in 1996; his grandson, Joshua Clendaniel on Sept. 28, 2018; and three brothers, Avery Clendaniel, James Clendaniel and Joshua Clendaniel.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Leona (Adams) Clendaniel; one son, John D. Clendaniel and his wife Tina; one daughter, Alice Metzner and her husband Robert David; one step-son, Richard Argo and his wife Faith; one step-daughter, Tina Johnson; grandchildren, Joshua Clendaniel, Kelly Metzner, Jeffrey Clendaniel, Kaitlyn Metzner, Clay Johnson, and Britney Johnson; one brother, Charlie Clendaniel; six sisters, Catherine Voshell, Lois Hall, Jean McMasters, Edna Chipman, Ruth Heinen and Laura Welch; as well as his beloved chihuahua, Prissy, whom he loved dearly.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford where a Masonic Service will be held at 12 p.m. followed by funeral services. Burial will follow in Ellendale Cemetery, Ellendale.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
