Robert D. “Bob” Goerger, 79, of Windsor, VA passed away at his home on May 9, 2026. Born in Indianapolis, IN on January 30, 1947, he was raised on the family dairy farm near Felton, DE. He was a 1965 graduate of Felton High School and a 1969 graduate of Delaware State University.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Sue W. Goerger; brothers, Thomas F. Goerger and James N. Goerger, Jr.; and his parents, James N. Goerger and Margaret W. Goerger.
Bob was an active member and former deacon of Smithfield Baptist Church. He was a longtime member of the Isle of Wight Ruritan Club. He worked for the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service in Isle of Wight County for 33 years. Bob enjoyed all things gardening and agricultural, especially working in the family pumpkin patch with his children and grandson.
He is survived by his daughter, Melanie Dawn Goerger Taylor (Bryan); son, Kevin Daniel Goerger (Catharine); loving grandson, Samuel James Goerger; identical twin brother, Richard W. Goerger (Debbie); sister-in-law, Fran Smith (Gary); and many nieces and nephews.
