Robert A. Records, 77
DOVER - Robert A. Records, died Monday, July 6, 2009, in his daughter's home. He was 77. Mr. Records was born August 24, 1931 on the family farm in Bacon Switch, to the late Atla C. Records and Nettie A. Parsons Records. He was a graduate of Laurel High School class of 1949. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Records then worked as a Civil Engineer for 30 years at the Dover Air Force Base. After retiring from the base he worked for Kent County Counseling as a Certified Addiction Counselor for 10 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member and past Commander of the VFW in Delmar, Md., and Wesley United Methodist Church in Dover. Mr. Records loved hunting, fishing, crabbing, he was a real outdoorsman and a great handyman. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Janet Brittingham Records, June 14, 2006; his son, Troy D. Records in 1991; and his brother, Wilson Records. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Jones and her husband Robert "Bob" of Dover; two grandsons, Christopher "Chris" Records Jones and Brett Robert Jones; a brother, Howard Records and his wife Imogene of Lewes; his sister, Peggy Hill of Laurel; a dear friend, who was like a daughter to him, Denise K. Schoen; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2009 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt. 10), Dover. Friends may call Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will be at Sharon Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S.
