DOVER - Richard S. Carty passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 7, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph B. Carty, Sr. and Mildred G. Carty; wife, Charlotte L. Carty; his brother Ralph B. Carty Jr.; and sisters, Jean C. Birch and Mary Virginia Volka. He is survived by his brother, Harold G. Carty and wife, Crin; sister, Marjorie C. Ciunci; and sister-in-law, Mary Edna Carty; daughter, Lori Hegman and husband Rod; and grandson, Austin; and granddaughter, Amber Ford; and great-granddaughter, Devan Ford; and numerous beloved nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018, at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad Street, Middletown. Family and friends may call between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jean Birch MOT Senior Center, 300 S. Scott Street, Middletown, DE 19709.
