DOVER - Richard L. Engle, Sr. died Fri., Apr. 10, 2015 in Wyoming. Dick was born Jun. 21, 1940 in Scranton, Pa. to the late Edward J. and Lucille B. Engle. The family moved to Wilmington where Dick was raised. He was a proud graduate of Conrad High School. Before finishing his degree at the University of Delaware he served his country in the Army Reserve. He was a devoted husband for 46 years, loving father of two, and proud PopPop of four. Dick, an avid golfer, was a member of Wild Quail where he had an ace in the game he loved. The Philadelphia Eagles were part of his life for more than fifty years most recently as a season ticket holder. Summers spent at "the beach house" in Bethany Beach left many fond memories of boogie boarding, swimming, boating, jet-skiing, crabbing, and having fun-in-the-sun with his family and friends. Professionally, Dick was enrolled to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. Since 1977 he owned and operated Richard L Engle EAPA in Dover Delaware and recently was joined by his son, Richard. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary DiMauro Engle of Dover; daughter, Dana Sambora and her husband, Marty; their children, Haley and Brady; & Richard L. Engle Jr. and his wife, Erin; and their sons, Ricky and Logan; brothers, Edward J. Engle and his wife, Kathy of Atlanta, Ga., Robert T. Engle and his wife, Charmane of Wilmington, Warren C. Engle and his wife, Jan of Hockessin; and sister, Laura Babiarz and her husband, Edward of Kennett Square, Pa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Cross Church on Apr. 17, 2015 at 12:00 noon with visitation starting at 10:30.
