Richard Douglas Baker, 66

MILFORD - Richard Douglas Baker, of Milford, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. He was 66.

Mr. Baker was born in Burrsville, son of the late Francis D. and Edith (Bullock) Baker.

He and his wife graduated with the class of 1960 from Harrington High School.

He worked for the DuPont Co., Seaford, until 1999, retiring after 38 years of service.

Mr. Baker was a Phillies fan since the early 1960s and was an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr.

He was a member of the Masonic Temple Lodge 9 of Milford and the Harrington Moose 534.

Richard will be sadly missed by his wife, Yvonne "Bonnie" Satterfield Baker; son, Brian D. Baker and his fiancee Jackie Armstrong; and the apple of his eye, his beloved granddaughter, Hannah R. Baker, all of Milford.

In addition, he is survived by his sisters, Louise Claycomb and husband Dick of California, Pat Teets of West Virginia and Eleanor Cain and her husband Charles of Harrington; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Janice Baker of Greenwood, Kenneth "Alan" and Carol Baker of Harrington and Harold "Randy" and Lola Baker of Seaford.

Funeral services will be noon Saturday at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. Dupont Highway, Harrington, where a visitation will begin one hour prior to the services.

Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.

In lieu of flowers, it was Richard's wish that any donations be made to the Hannah Baker educational fund at Del-One, c/o Shari Lord, 100 Credit Union Way, Milford, DE 19963.

Arrangements are by the Melvin Funeral Home, Harrington.
