HARTLY - Richard C. Knowles passed away unexpectedly on December 21, 2020. Richard was the son of Henry and Loretta Knowles.
Richard was a graduate of Dover High School. He was a Master Machinist who worked for years with Playtex Industries and Hirsch Industries.
Richard participated in a local bowling league over the years. He was an avid pool player and traveled all over the U.S., including Las Vegas, for tournaments. He was a member of the Moose Lodge for over 30 years. He loved to go out fishing and crabbing on his boat with his friends and family. He was always the happiest on the water and spending time with his grandchildren.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, grandparents, and his sister, Patricia.
He is survived by his son, Daniel (Julianne); and his two grandchildren, Karsyn and Presley Knowles of Murfreesboro, Tenn., who he loved dearly; two brothers, Ronald and Dale Knowles; two sisters, Ruth O'Neal and Barbara Lovegrove; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a service held at Trader Funeral Home in Dover, Del. on Friday, January 1, 2021 from 10 to 11 a.m. A final eulogy will be given at 11 a.m. by family and friends. Covid 19 guidelines will be in place.
In consideration of protecting the family and friends health, public health guidelines enacted for the prevention of the spread of covid-19 virus, limitations on gatherings, physical distancing, use of hand sanitation and masks are in place.
