Richard Bruce Hamilton

MAGNOLIA - Richard Bruce Hamilton of Magnolia died Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford after a very long and courageous fight with cancer. He was 52. Mr. Hamilton was born Aug. 21, 1958, in Pittsburgh, Pa. to Robert Hamilton and the late Marie Demet Hamilton. He served in the United States Air Force and the United States Air Force Reserves retiring as MSgt. Mr. Hamilton worked for Verizon as a cable splicer. He enjoyed playing darts, softball, football, and golfing. Mr. Hamilton was a member of Calvary Assembly of God. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Bob Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton is survived by his wife of 26 years, Terri Memmolo Hamilton of Magnolia; two sons, Eric Hamilton and Daniel Hamilton both of Magnolia; his father, Robert Hamilton of Cokeberg, Pa.; three brothers, Neil Hamilton of St. Cloud, Fla., Mike Hamilton of Texas and Bill Hamilton of Rocklin, Calif.; three sisters, Deb Matetic of McMurry, Pa., Patty Janovich of Sparta, Wis. and Kim Green of Spokane, Wash. Funeral services will be noon, Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at Calvary Assembly of God Church, 1141 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be at Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions can be made online to Delaware Hospice by going to www.delawarehospice.org. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guest book signed at torbertfuneral.com
