MILFORD - Richard Andrew Wilson departed this life Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018 at the Delaware Hospice surrounded by family and loved ones.
Richard was born March 21, 1979 in Oxford, England United Kingdom. He spent his early years in Goldsboro, North Carolina, and graduated from the Milford High School in 1997. After high school he was diagnosed with a terminal illness, but persevered and ended up attending University of Delaware and receiving his degree in Elementary Education in 2004. In 2005 he received a multiple organ transplant, at Georgetown University Hospital. He was the longest surviving recipient of this type of transplant.
He is survived by his daughter, Ella Wilson; parents, Carlene and Michael Wilson; three brothers, Allen Wilson, Lamont Wilson and Joshua Wilson; one sister, Shayla Wilson; and niece, Makala Wilson.
Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018 at 12 p.m. at Lighthouse Christian Center, 347 Calvary Road, Milford. Family and friends may visit two hours prior to the service.
