CLAYTON - Raymond F. Fiske, of Clayton, died Monday Nov. 10, 2008, in his home. He was 49. Mr. Fiske was born in Pittsfield, Mass., son of Howard Fiske of Sidney, N.Y., and the late Florence Shufelt Fiske. Mr. Fiske worked for Roadway Express of Dover, for 10 years as a driver until 1996, when injuries sustained in an auto accident forced his retirement. Prior to his position with Roadway, Mr. Fiske served in the United States Air Force serving in Colorado, Alaska and Delaware. Also while serving in the Air Force, Mr. Fiske worked as a Police officer for the Manitou Springs Police Dept. Manitou Springs Colorado. Mr. Fiske was a Life member of the Cresent Pittsfield Masonic Lodge in Pittsfield, MA. He was also a member of the Clayton Vol. Fire Co. Clayton, and, the Citizens Hose Co. 1 of Smyrna. Ray loved hunting and fishing and any activity outdoors. He enjoyed participating in Lumberjack competitions and riding his motorcycle. Ray was a friend to everyone he met and he went out of his way to help anyone who needed his help. Ray is survived by his wife of 28 years, Harriet C. Fiske; a daughter, Jamie Fiske of West Chester, Pa.; two sons, David of Marydel, and Brian of Clayton. In addition to his father, his dad's wife, Nancy Fiske of Sidney, N.Y.; two sisters, Marion and her husband Bruce Reynolds of Canaan, N.Y.; and Tracy and her husband Greg Hillebrand of Carlisle, Pa.; three brothers, Howard and Thomas both of Pittsfield Mass., and Edward Fiske and his wife Betty Daly also of Pittsfield, Mass.; father and mother-in-law, Jim and Elizabeth Clough of Millington, Md.; a brother -in-law and his fiance, Jay Clough and Becky White of Crumpton, Md.; and three nieces, Jennifer Sitzer, Helen Fiske and Pearl Lavalette The Family will be receiving friends on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. in the Fellows Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St. Millington, Md. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of his life on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Dulaney Chapel Church, Clayton. Other services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 92 Read's Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720.
