Ralph Edward Thompson

SANDTOWN - Ralph "Bill" Edward Thompson, Sr. went home to be with Jesus on April 29, 2018 at his home.
He was born on Jan. 26, 1931 in Marydel, Md. to the late Omer Jones and Edith Hutson Thompson. He was a Korean War veteran who worked as a machine operator at Playtex and was a volunteer firefighter for there as well as for the city of Koshkonong, Mo. Mr. Thompson enjoyed fishing, coaching and being a Little League umpire. He was a founding member of the Marydel Little League. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union, 1st Assembly of God in Missouri and Community Christian Church in Harrington.
In addition to his wife of 62 years, Joyce Cahall Thompson; he is survived by children, Ralph "Billy" Edward Thompson, Jr. of Marydel, Timothy M. Thompson of Henderson, Tammy Lee Thompson Defina of Missouri, April Lyn Krupa of Sandtown, Jody Ann DeHoff of Camden and Dorcas Elaine-Rose Gilbert of Sandtown, 21 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
A visitation will be held at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home in Greensboro from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Busick Church in Barclay at 12 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior.
