'Danny' Cox, 58 ALSBACH, Germany - Ralph Daniel "Danny" Cox, 58, of Alsbach, Germany, died Feb. 8, 2012, at Heidelberg University Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born Aug. 28, 1953, to Margaret "Peg" Zehring and the late Ralph V. Cox. Formerly of Dover, Del., he attended Dover High School graduation in 1971. He was a U.S. Army Veteran retiring in 1992 with 20 years of service. He was a 1996 graduate of University of Maryland European Division earning his bachelors degree in computer science and business. The past 20 years he has held an active civil position with the Department of Defense in Heidelberg, Germany. He enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, gardening and traveling. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Charles D. Zehring. He is survived by his mother, Margaret "Peg" Zehring of Dover; his wife of 38 years, Karin Wagner Cox; his son, Brian D. Cox, both of Alsbach, Germany; brother, Dennis Cox (Bobbie) of Harrington; two sisters, Diane Willey (Jesse) of Dover and Verna Sellers (Brian) of Hartly; step-mother, Margie Cox of Hartly; aunt, Maxine Dunning of Downes Chapel; uncle, Donald O'Neal (Barbara) of Clayton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be honored in a full military funeral on Feb. 23, 2012. Contributions in his memory can be made to the Kent County SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
