Preston "Cobby" Hastings, 63
LAUREL - Preston "Cobby" Hastings of Laurel died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, at his residence. He was 63.
Mr. Hastings worked for Dukes Lumber Co. for 30 years.
He was a member of the Seaford Moose Lodge and volunteered his time to serve people in need.
Mr. Hastings was an avid Dale Earnhart Sr. fan. He also loved working on cars.
He enjoyed going to Ocean City, Md., for his wedding anniversary.
Mr. Hastings was a fantastic grandfather who loved every one of his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Alda (Ferrell) Hastings; and a brother, Alfred "Punkin" Hastings, in 1995.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Delores Hasting; a son and a daughter-in-law, Preston Jr. and Sheryl Hastings of Laurel; a daughter, Teresa Foskey of Laurel; two stepdaughters and a stepson-in-law, Jeanette Massey of Blades and Benda and Shannon Robertson of Selbyville; a brother and a sister-in-law, Harvey T. and Edna Hastings of Blades; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Joyce Chambers and her companion, Henry Mason, both of Seaford, and Peggy and Bill Dean of Laurel; 11 grandchildren, Eric, Chelsea, Tryston, Karlee, Mason, Stephani, Kortni, Benjamin, Zachary, Allen and Lori; two great-grandchildren, Kyler and Brianna; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Friends may also call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
The Revs. Jerry Denton, Timmy Dukes and Joe LeCates will officiate.
Burial will be in Blades Cemetery.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Blades Fire Department, 200 E. Fifth St., Blades, DE 19973.
