DOVER - Phyllis Biddle Welch of Dover died Monday, May 28, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 77.

Mrs. Welch was born May 19, 1930, in Dover, to the late Harrington Biddle and Ione McNamire Biddle.

Mrs. Welch graduated from Dover High School in 1948 and worked as a teacher at Dover Little School from 1963 to 1997.

She enjoyed doing needle work, knitting, calligraphy, traveling and going to the beach. She loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert Welch of Dover; a daughter, Carol Donophan and her husband, Jim of Dover; her brother, Richard Biddle and his wife, Sharon of Dover; her sister, Ginger Wingard and her husband, Don of Dover; two grandchildren, Jennifer Bennett and Amy Walter; two great-grandchildren, Kelsey Walter and Skylar Walter.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Del. 10), Dover. Friends may call Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
