CAMDEN, Del. - Peter Joseph Penta, Jr. passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Kent General Hospital.
He was born September 3, 1951, in New York, N.Y. to the late Peter Joseph Penta, Sr. and Loretta C. Engebretson.
Mr. Penta served 27 years in the United States Air Force, retiring in 2000 as Lieutenant Colonel. Following his military career, he worked as a substitute teacher at Polytech High School. He had a passion for military history, especially the aircraft that shaped military engagements during his and his father's military careers. His love of history and the Air Force was exceeded only by his deep love for his family. He was a loving husband and a caring father.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Penta.
Mr. Penta is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Wavey Constance Anthony of Camden, Del.; daughter, Samantha Penta and son-in-law Theodore Wilson of Niskayuna, N.Y.; and brother, Robert Penta of Hicksville, N.Y.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, Del. Friends may visit one hour prior. Interment will be at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, Del.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association and the Air Mobility Command Museum Foundation.
