Pete Stacey Edwards

ROCK HALL, Md. - Pete Stacey Edwards, of Rock Hall, died on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at the Chester River Hospital Center in Chestertown, Md. He was 44. Mr. Edwards was born on Dec. 2, 1965, in Chestertown, the son of Janet Marie Wallace Edwards and the late James Leo Edwards. Mr. Edwards was a 1983 graduate of Kent County High School. Mr. Edwards began working for David A. Bramble's Construction while he was still in high school and continued to work there after graduation, he took over the position of Plant Foreman in 1991 after the death of his father who was the previous foreman. Pete also, worked on the water, crabbing and fishing. On July 29, 2000, he married Shirlyn J. Edwards. Mr. Edwards was a Member of the Rock Hall American Legion, Maryland State Waterman's Association and also a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Rock Hall. He loved spending time with his children and his grandchildren whom he adored. He also enjoyed shooting pool, fishing and crabbing. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Elizabeth Bryden. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Shirlyn J. Edwards of Rock Hall; one daughter, Veronica Gonzales and husband Sebatian of Camden, Del.; one son, Wallace "Dinky" Harris and fiancé Laura Brilz of Rock Hall; his mother, Janet Marie Edwards and fiancé Dale McMullen of Rock Hall; three grandchildren, Jazmin Wright of Camden, Sabrina Gonzales of Camden, Bennett Edwards Harris of Rock Hall; one sister, Patricia Ann Williams and husband Randy of Rock Hall; three nieces, Krista Lee Williams, Haley Marie Williams, and Makenzie Lyn Williams all of Rock Hall; one cousin, Candy-Roach and husband Tim and their daughter Brynne of Rock Hall; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m., Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Rd., Chestertown. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Maryland State Waterman's Association 1805-A Virginia Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21401.
