Pearl Alice Paskey Betts passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 22, 2021. Pearl was born in Felton, Delaware where she resided for the majority of her years, she spent two years in Wilmington with her grandparents Mary and John Kelly from between the ages of 3-5. Pearl then returned to the Masten's Corner family farm. Her and her future husband attended the Masten's Corner Country School, then they both attended the Harrington School. In 1932 she married her long-time friend and neighbor Elmer L. Betts, where they lived on the dairy and grain farm, in 1939 they were blessed with the birth of their son LeRoy, Pearl remained home on the farm to work side by side with Elmer.
Pearl loved and enjoyed many things in life, but her family above all was her pride and joy. She loved all things about it, the everyday visits to the holidays and everything in between. Pearl would always have meals or a snack on the table. She enjoyed just being around and watching her family as they grew. No matter where she was Pearl was a people person and brought joy to all she was around.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, William Paskey and Pearl Kelly Paskey; a daughter at birth; husband, Elmer L. Betts; brothers, Walter Paskey, Billy Paskey; and sister, Janet Paskey Brown.
She is survived by her son, Wm. LeRoy Betts, wife Marylou, granddaughter Abby Betts Roberts and husband Thomas, grandson R. Bruce Betts and wife Kay, great granddaughter Whitney Betts Krietz and husband Cory, great grandson Ridge Betts, and great great granddaughter Brynlee Pearl Krietz and brother-in-law Tim Brown. She is survived by many nieces and nephews: Edward Paskey, Jeannie Paskey Callaway, Bill Paskey, JoAnn Paskey, Mark Paskey, and Brandi Brown Nowakowski and many great nieces, nephews and loved ones. A sincere thank you to the compassionate care givers Paula Boyd, Sabrina Reid, Susan Taylor, and Elizabeth Miller that provided the upmost care. Many thanks to Dr. Wilson for the continued extra care.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 200 Weiner Avenue. Harrington, Del. from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. with service beginning at 11 am. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery Harington.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Asbury United Methodist Church, 200 Weiner Avenue. Harrington, Delaware 19952.
