Pauline Marie Dodson

DOVER - Pauline Marie Dodson, of Dover, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at Westminster Village. She was 91. Mrs. Dodson was born Nov. 1, 1919, in Bayard, W.Va., to the late George Hoffman and Dessie Knotts Hoffman. She owned and operated her own beauty salon in Salisbury, The Milady Salon, for 23 years retiring in 1979. Mrs. Dodson enjoyed working in her flower garden and working with jigsaws to make wooden ornaments for her garden as well as painting them. She also enjoyed playing her Hawaiian Steele guitar. Mrs. Dodson attended Adult Day Care at the Modern Maturity Center in Dover and was a member of The Pentecostals of Dover, she had also taught Sunday school at the Methodist Church in Newark, Md. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Frank Dodson, 1978; daughters, Jacqueline Dodson, 1940 at birth, and Billie Mae Williamson, 1998. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Dodson of Dover; grandchildren, Jackie Middleton, Donna Hancock, David Sammons Jr., Christopher Williamson and Andrea Williamson, all of Salisbury, Md.; and great-grandchildren, Brandon, Tyler and Jeremy. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Berlin, Md. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DE 96011 or Seasons Hospice, 220 Continental Dr., Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713.
