Paula Marie Renard

Paula Marie Renard, 84 LEWES - Paula Marie Renard, 84, (nee Guttzeit) of Lewes, formerly of Millsboro, died Dec. 27, 2009, at the Harbor Health Care Nursing Home in Lewes. Paula was born on Aug. 3, 1925, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Edward Adolph and Edna (Stewart) Guttzeit. She was a 1943 graduate of Dumont High Scholl, Dumont, N.J., where she was voted most artistic by her classmates. Paula was a gifted artist and was able to further develop her artistic talents as a member of the Millsboro Art League in the 1990's. She also enjoyed nature, doll making and photography. Prior to her retirement, after 15 years of employment, from the Prudential Insurance Company, Linwood, N.J., in 1989, Paula lived in Egg Harbor Township, N.J., with her late husband, Henry. Paula also worked for Consolidated Films in Fort Lee, New Jersey during the 1950's. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Montvale, New Jersey and Christ Episcopal Church, Somers Point, N.J. Paula was predeceased by her loving husband of 49 years, Henry Renard, in 2005; and her brothers, Arthur Guttzeit and Richard Guttzeit. She is survived by her son, Stewart of Milton; and nine nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 31, at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Rd, Millsboro, where friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Paula's memory to the Millsboro Art League, 203 Main Street, Millsboro, DE 19966.
