DOVER - Paul R. Smith passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012 in Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 84. Paul was born on June 29, 1927 in Windsor, Pa., son of the late Henry and Elsie (Bavis) Smith. He had worked as a chief custodian for the Capital School district. Paul was preceded in death by six siblings, Robert H. Smith, Sr., Carl Smith, Henry Smith, Violet Arnold, Elsie Smith, and Fred Smith; and a nephew, Gilbert Smith. He is survived by three nieces, Diane Dellinger of Dover, Shirley Easton of Florida and Karen Stickles of Pa.; five nephews, Robert H. Smith, Jr. of Pa., Jan Smith of Pa., Tim Smith of Pa., Creig Smith of Md., John Smith of Florida; and two sisters-in-law, Margaret Smith of Florida and Peg Smith of Pa. Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 noon, Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Make A Wish Foundation, 3411 Silverside Rd., The Welden Bldg., Suite 104, Wilmington, DE 19810.
