SEAFORD - Paul John DiMeglio II, of Seaford, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford, due to complications from a long term illness. He was 53 years young.

Mr. DiMeglio was born in Wilmington on Nov. 7, 1954, to Paul J. Dimeglio Sr. of Wilmington and the late Marie McKibben DiMeglio.

He attended St. Elizabeth and Delcastle high schools in Wilmington, concentrating on drafting and environmental services.

He worked for various rehabilitation and retirement homes as their maintenance director in Milford and Seaford.

Mr. DiMeglio was a history buff. He also enjoyed reading, especially Kurt Vonnegut, collecting stamps from all areas and times, watching movies, listening to music from his youth, studying boating history and ships, and spending time with his family doing many outside activities.

He was involved with the making and designing of models and helped to create dioramas at the Wyeth Museum, Wilmington.

He was a member of the Plumbing and Pipefitters Union Local 782 in Laurel, the Knights of Columbus at St. Elizabeth in Wilmington, and he was active with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 182 in Seaford.

Mr. DiMeglio was a very firm believer of organ donation and transplantation. He stressed the importance of being an organ donor and with it, the possibility of saving the lives of others.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 30 years, Judith Alley DiMeglio; his children, Jennifer Marie DiMeglio and fiance Adrian Johnson of Millsboro and Paul John DiMeglio III of Seaford and his longtime girlfriend Tory Stogner of Greenwood; a brother, Joe DiMeglio of Troy, Va.; five sisters, Jane Moore and her husband Bill, Sister Mary DiMeglio, Anne Henderson and her husband Curt, Rose Krzysiak and her husband John and Marcie DiMeglio, all of Wilmington; five nieces and four nephews; two great-nieces; two great-nephews; three sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; and many special and loved close friends.

Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Fleischauer Funeral Home, 48 W. Market St., Greenwood.

Burial will be private.
