Patsy Ann Olsen

CLAYTON - Patsy Ann Olsen passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017 at Kent General Hospital in Dover.
She was born on Feb. 8, 1934 in Frederick, Md., the daughter of the late Wilmer Clyde Rippeon and Marian Lavinia Tregoning Rippeon.
She worked in the Smyrna School District and at the DHCI. She retired from the District and from there contributed her time to the Laborers for Christ with her husband.
Patsy was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed time with family and friends; and loved to bake and knit. She was very active with Peace Lutheran Church of Smyrna and was proud to be founding member.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Wilmer Clyde Rippeon Jr., Kenneth Rippeon; and her sister, Betty Jane Hoffman.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Cliff; her son, Jim Olsen and his wife Robbie of Beaufort, S.C.; her daughter, Karen McClements and her husband Glen of Smyrna; her grandchildren, Jessica Ragsdale of Wilmington, and Jem August and her husband Jordan of Clayton. In addition, she was survived by her sister, Winifred Trussell; and brother, Carl Rippeon.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, located at 5048 Wheatleys Pond Road, Smyrna, Delaware 19977. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Sharon Hills Memorial Park in Dover.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Peace Lutheran Church, 5048 Wheatleys Pond Road, Smyrna, Delaware 19977.
