Georgetown - Norman E. Spicer passed away at home, on Monday, Feb. 27, 2017, surrounded by family and friends. Norman was born in Georgetown, son of the late, Norman E. and Susie (Jefferson) Spicer. Norman served in the National Guard, worked with Jim Chandler, on a Rendering truck years ago. In his early years, he was a carpenter, for John L. Briggs, and later owned and operated, Norman Spicer Building Contractor, retiring in 2001. He was a member, of the Georgetown Volunteer Fire Company, and a former member of Local Union, #2012 Carpenters. He enjoyed deer hunting, with Richard Lankford and Cordia Warrington. He was preceded in death by his son, Chad Spicer; brothers, Donald and James Spicer; and a sister, Patricia Littleton. He is survived by his wife, of 41 years, Ruth Ann (Johnson) Spicer; children, Bruce Spicer of Georgetown, Lisa Etienne, of Laurel, and Michelle Spicer, of Georgetown; grandchildren, Aubrey Spicer, Stephanie Lynch, Brandon Lauer, Taylor Littleton, and Lacy Reed; and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, Mar. 3, 2017, at 2 p.m., at Crossroad Community Church, 20684 State Forest Rd., Georgetown, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Interment will be in Cokesbury Cemetery, Georgetown.
