GEORGETOWN - Norma E. Short passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 31, 2021.
Mrs. Short was born in Milton to the late Louis Victor Spencer and Arzie Bell (Walls) Spencer. She retired from ACME and volunteered for the Delaware Hospice Center. She graduated from Milton High School, where she played basketball and graduated as the valedictorian. She was an avid bingo player, card player with her friends, and a sports fan, especially the Phillies.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her brother, William T. Spencer.
She is survived by her husband, Donald C. Short; children, Linda Spencer, Charles 'Sparky' (Marlyn) Warrington, and Terry (Edwin) Cook; sister, Lila (Larry) Hoffman; granddaughter, Kathy (Tom) Kelly; and great-grandchildren, Megan Kelly, Delaney Kelly, and Sean Kelly; as well as extended family of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 12 noon in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, DE 19947, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery. All those in attendance must wear a mask and adhere to social gathering and distancing protocols.
