Nora Loretta Orvis

Smyrna - Nora Loretta (Scott) Orvis, passed away, Sunday, April 29, 2018, in Kent General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Nora was born, June 7, 1936, in Magnolia to the late, Edward and Hilda (Wyatt) Scott. Her career spanned 40 years with the State of Delaware, beginning as an 18 year old working for the DMV, and concluding in the Record Department for the Delaware State Police. In her free time, Nora enjoyed going camping, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Scott; and her great-granddaughter, Brielle Nicole Orvis.
Nora is survived by her son, Corey A. Orvis and wife, Michelle, of Felton; her sister, Margaret Welch, of Dover; three grandchildren, Corey Justin Orvis, Tamera Parrish and Nicholas Bialota; four great-granddaughters, two great-grandsons, her nieces, Terry Maine, Peggy Katz, and Marsha Brigham; and her nephews, Mike and Gregory Scott.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2018, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave.; where family and friends may gather from 6 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
