Sparks, 86
Nadine Eleanor Sparks, of Fleetwood, Pa. (formerly of Dover, Del. for 48 years), died Friday, January 14, 2022, in Reading, Pa. at the Penn State Hospital, St. Joseph's Medical Center.
Nadine was born September 16, 1935 in Greenleaf, Kansas – daughter of the late Frank and Daisy Tegethoff.
Nadine is survived by her daughter, Julie Brush and husband Jerry of Fleetwood, Pa.; her son, Lance Sparks and wife Laurie of Fontana, Calif.; one sister, Barbara Alldredge of Niceville, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, Angela Kay, Simon Brush, Luke Brush, Allen Sparks, Michael Brush, Andrew Sparks, Ashley Richmond, Aryn Gruchacz, Anna Botes, Alexander (Cade) Sparks, Austin (AJ) Sparks, Avery Sparks; and 19 great grandchildren. She leaves behind a full house!
Nadine was the loving wife of the late Kenneth Sparks for just shy of 60 years. Ken served in the Air Force and retired after 20 years in Dover, Delaware where they lived for over 44 years together. Both ministered together faithfully at their church, Faith Community Church in Dover, Del. for those 40+ years. Nadine ministered through the Women's Ministry as a member of and then the head of that ministry for 38 years, as well as taught the Women's Bible study for 35 years. She served as a godly mentor, but also influenced and counseled countless women throughout those years.
Nadine lived her last 3 years with her daughter and son-in-law in Fleetwood, Pa. as her health declined. She was surrounded by loving children, grandchildren, and great-grandkids till the Lord took her Home. Burial will be a simple, graveside service at Barratt's Chapel Cemetery in Frederica, Del. at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 4, 2022 – followed by an informal memorial service at Faith Community Church, 2240 S. Dupont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901 at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to The Gideons International, PO Box 140800 Nashville, TN, 37214-0800, OR Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC, 28607.
