Minnie Hill

Dover - Minnie (Harris) Hill transitioned to her heavenly father on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018.
She was a native of Milford and the daughter of the late George T. Harris, Sr. and Naomi Harris.
She is survived by her husband, William H. Hill; three children, Andre Hill (wife Jackie), Stephan Hill and Jocelyn Hill; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn five brothers and four sisters plus a host of extended relatives.
Minnie Hill was a 1959 graduate of Delaware State College (now Delaware State University) with a major in Business Education. She resided in Dover for 56 years and retired from Delaware State Universityafter 37 1/2 years of devoted service.
Minnie was a life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and was a campus advisor for the undergraduatechapter for nine consecutive years.
Minnie was also a faithful member of Whatcoat United Methodist Church of Dover and a member of the mass choir for 48 years.
Since retiring from Delaware State University, Minnie volunteered for many worthwhile programs, such as Read-A-Loud, DAPI and the Wesley Foundation Campus Listening Post.
We will miss her dearly and the precious memories will be in our minds and hearts forever.
A Tribute Ceremony will be held on Friday, Jan. 4, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Whatcoat United Methodist Church, 341 Saulsbury Rd., Dover, DE 19904. Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Whatcoat United Methodist Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Letters of condolence may be sent and guestbook signed at www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com.
