SEAFORD - Minister Cassie E. Palmer of Seaford left this world and entered into her heavenly home on May 18, 2007, in Peninsula regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md. She was 87.

Minister Palmer was the daughter of the late John and Rhoda Smith-Cannon.

Minister Palmer was a devout and dedicated woman of God. Prior to entering into His care and taking rest in her heavenly home, she was a member of the Clarence Street Church of God, in Seaford for well over 60 years.

She served her church faithfully in the capacities of Sunday School teacher, a member of the church choir, a member of the Willing Workers Board, a Vacation Bible school teacher and she was an ordained minister to name a few of the positions she has held throughout the years.

Minister Palmer will fondly be remembered as a cook for Terry"s Restaurant, formerly of Seaford and even with being a dedicated mother of 13 biological and six stepchildren she found the time to work as a domestic engineer for companies and for private families.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Palmer; daughter, Ada Jenkins; and son, Donald Jenkins.

She is survived by seven sons, Wilmer Jr. and wife, Dorothy Jenkins, Frank and wife, Jeanette Jenkins, and William and wife, Doris Jenkins, all of Seaford, Ivory Jenkins, and Ronald Jenkins, both of Dover, Leonard Jenkins of Laurel, and Sylvester and wife, Debbie Jenkins of Dover; four daughters, Edith Camper of Seaford, Lucy and husband, Charles of Laurel, Md., Mary Walker of Seaford, and Vickie and husband, Darnell Salley of Upper Marlboro, Md.; six step-children, Elenora Palmer-William of Miami, Fla., Dorothy Palmer-Franklin of Dover, Vandola Palmer-Brown and Dorethea Blocksom-Solomon, both of Philadelphia, William Palmer of Seaford and Willa Mae Palmer-Lane of Hampton, Va.; one brother, James and wife, Rebecca Cannon of Seaford; one sister, Shirley and husband, Blandy Kellam of Seaford; one additional sister-in-law, Ida Mae Jenkins of Seaford; forty-one grandchildren; fifty-six great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; three additional children she raised as her own, Louise Singletary of Baltimore, Md., James Jenkins of Seaford, and Wilmer Jenkins of Seaford; and one devoted best friend whom she considered her spiritual sister, Co-Pastor of Clarence Street Church of God, Co-Pastor Alberta Waples of Seaford.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Clarence Street Church of God where the Bishop Carlton Cannon will deliver the eulogy. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m. at the church.

Interment will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Seaford.
