DOVER - Mildred McCullough LeDoux, a long-time member of a local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, at her home. Mildred was born in March 1924 in the State of Battown, Tenn. As the only child of Virgil McCullough and Bessie McFalls McCullough Reel, she spent her childhood days in Tennessee as a spunky young girl, enjoying the natural surroundings and simple things found around her. As a young woman growing into adulthood, she met and married Roger A. LeDoux, of Schoenchen, Kan., in 1944. Giving birth to one child, her son, Antonio M. LaDoux, her love for nature grew and deepened. Impressed by a loving God as the creator of all things, Mildred dedicated her life to serving God. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on July 12, 1963, at Orchard Beach, N.Y. Mildred continued to pursue her passions, enjoying nature and the people that moved through it. She helped many share her enthusiasm about the Creator. Directing all praise to the creator as the source of her happiness, she turned that passion into occupation by spending 19 years as a dog groomer. Having a soft spot for children, she loved the little bundles of energy, and related to others the experience she had with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mildred loved expressing herself through art, gardening, drawing, and painting. She will be actively missed by all who knew her. Preceded in death by Roger LaDoux, in 1993, she survived by her son, three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren in Schoenchen, Kan. Memorial services will be 7 p.m., Friday at the local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses on 1260 W. State College Road, Dover.
