Mildred M. Carpenter, 87
MILFORD - Mildred M. Carpenter of Milford, formerly of North Bellmore, N.Y., passed away Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at the Milford Center. She was 87.
Mrs. Carpenter was born Sept. 13, 1920, in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late William and Sadie (Logquest) Scott.
She was employed as a clerk with the North Bellmore Public Library for 30 years, retiring in 1996.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allan T. Carpenter, in 1976; two brothers, William Scott and Edward Scott; and a sister, Wilma Bruckert.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Rehm of Harrington; a sister, Frances Sterner of New Hampshire; and two grandchildren, Jennifer Rehm and Jonathan Rehm Jr.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of the Long Island National Cemetery, 240 Wellwood Ave., Farmingdale, N.Y., where burial will follow.
Instead of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to Christ Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 191, Milford, DE 19963.
