Mildred L. Caldwell

Dover- Mildred Caldwel went home to be with the LORD, Monday, Sept. 15, 2014 in her daughter's home surrounded by her loving family. Mildred was born, April 9, 1937 in Milford to the late Joseph Sr. and Ardessa Warren. Mildred was employed by Telamon Headstart. She loved her job and the children she worked with. Prior to that she worked for the Veterans Administration in Dover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Caldwell; a daughter; Cynthia Caldwell; two brothers, Herschall and Wilson Warren; one sister, Thelma Baynard and her son-in-law William Caudle. Mildred is survived by her six children; Natalyn (Dossie) Walls, Smyrna, Sharon Caldwell, Dover, Victoria Caudle, Newark, Sheldon Caldwell, Townsend, Thema (Bernard) Eason and Kimberly Caldwell both of Dover; 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grand children; four brothers; Joseph Warren, Jr., Charles (Gayle) Warren, Marine Warren of Dover and Gerald Warren of Frederica. Four sisters; Ardessa (Albert) Deputy, Frederica, Clementine (Charlie) Knighton, Joyce Torres, Rose (Garth) Cater of Dover and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Mildred leaves to cherish a special friend Wendell Schenck, special caregiver grandson, Brian Caldwell and granddaughter Thema Eason. Special thanks go out to all of Ms. Caldwell's caregivers, Brian, Thema, Sharon, Sade and Natalyn. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday Sept. 20, 2014 at 1st Pilgrim Baptist Church, 6 Miles Lane, Camden, DE. Viewing will be two hours prior to the service. Interment will be in Gibbs Memorial Cemetery, Woodside, DE. Arrangements by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover. Letters of condolences may be sent to www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com
