NEW CHURCH, Va. - Michael Ronte" "Man" McKyer of New Church died suddenly Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, in New Church. He was 20.
Son of Pamela McKyer Johnson and the late Abraham Epps, he was born April 17, 1987, in Norfolk.
Man was educated in the Accomack County Public School system. He later attended Virginia State University in Petersburg.
He received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at the Jerusalem Baptist Church of Temperanceville.
He was a young boy, but lived a man"s life.
Man had a tremendous love for video games, cars and dogs.
He touched the lives of many, especially his family and close friends. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his mother, Pamela McKyer Johnson; his father, James Johnson; one daughter, Ne"Vaeh Ranay McKyer; four sisters, Kinya Hope of Oak Hall, Shaka McKyer and Tyra Victor, both of New Church, and Tamyra Mills of Horntown; three brothers, Raymond McKyer of New Church, Kendall Matthews of Waverly, and Reginald Handy Jr. of Melfa; three nephews, Rae"Quan Hope, Jaden Hope and Zion McKyer; his maternal grandparents, Elijah James and Laurabell Hope of Middletown, Del.; two aunts, Wendy Jones and Yvonne Parker; two uncles, Mitchell and Elmer Corbin; a companion, Kenesha Scarborough; his godmothers, Elouise Brown and Sylvia Tindley; and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Jerusalem Baptist Church of Temperanceville.
A public viewing will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 819 Fourth St., Pocomoke City, Md.
Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Dr. Michael Thomas Scott Sr. will officiate.
