DENTON, Md. - Michael J. Seiler Sr. of Denton died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, at the Memorial Hospital in Easton. He was 82.

Born on the family farm outside Denton, Mr. Seiler was the son of the late Michael J. Seiler and Emma (Mugenthaler) Seiler.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

On June 14, 1952, Mr. Seiler married his wife of 55 years, Julia Seiler of Denton.

From 1959 until 1985, he worked for himself in the Mike 'N Joe Construction Co. He then worked for Tidewater Builders in Easton from 1985 until 1995, after which time he worked part-time as a builder for Tom Moran Construction, near Denton.

Mr. Seiler loved working in his workshop and was a real craftsman. He also loved to crab and fish.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Seiler is survived by one daughter, Cynthia L. Vonville of Denton; two sons, Christopher A. Seiler of Rockland, Maine, and Michael J. Seiler Jr. of Charlottesville, Va.; one sister, Marie Talosi of Greensboro; and five grandchildren, Jennifer, Annelise, Lorelei, Mark and Jake.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Albert Seiler and Joseph L. Seiler; and two sisters, Emma Blazejak and Anna Seiler.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the St. Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Church, First Street, Denton.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Moore Funeral Home, 12 S. Second St., Denton, where there will be a rosary celebrated at 8 p.m.

The interment will be in the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, Beulah, Md.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the St. Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Church, P.O. Box 459, Ridgely, MD 21660; or to the Caroline Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 362, Denton, MD 21629.
