Michael Dale 'Mike' Anders, 54

SMYRNA - Michael Dale 'Mike' Anders, 54, of Smyrna and formerly of Harrington, passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, at Delaware Home for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna. Born on Feb. 9, 1955, in Elkton, Md., he was the son of Annabelle (Burton) Brown of Rising Sun, Md., and the late Samuel Anders. Michael proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and later with the Maryland National Guard. He was formerly employed by Amtrak and Thermo-King. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his only son, Matthew Dale Anders of Dover; his only grandson, Owen Basham of Dover; his best friend and favorite nurse, Kathy Joiner; his former wife and dear friend, Rebecca (Cadmus) Yetter of Dover; two very dear friends, Denise Williams and Nancy Kling; six brothers, Dave, Paul, Frank, Rodger, Anthony and Mark; three sisters, Rebecca, Michelle and Heather; two aunts and one uncle, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 24, at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad Street, Middletown, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to services.
