SMYRNA - Michael A. Brown passed away at home on July 30, 2015. Mr. Brown was born March 13, 1962 in Riverside, Calif., the son of the late Francis and Patricia Brown. Mr. Brown served his country with honor, retiring from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years. Michael was a musician, who enjoyed playing the drums and other instruments. He was also an avid reader. He was the first state commander of AMVETS, an associate member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Kent County Chapter 850 and a member of the Veterans United Outreach of Delaware. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annette Tiernan-Brown. He is survived by his brother, Steve Brown of Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Kathy Turk and her husband Jeremy of Livermore, Calif. and Vicki Garcia and her husband Ernie of Bellevue, NE; his step-son, Tommy Robina and his wife AnnMary; two nieces, Lauren and Erin; two nephews, Patrick and Coben; several extended family members; and very close friends including Smoke Steele and family. A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 5 pm in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna. Memorial services will begin at 6 pm. Burial will be privately held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Faithful Friends Animal Society, 12 Germany Drive, Wilmington, DE 19804 or to Veterans United Outreach of Delaware, c/o Kathy Steele, 2580 Longridge Rd., Clayton, DE 19938.
