Mervin Leon Marcellus Jones III

Jones III 'MJ3', 11 MAGNOLIA - Mervin Leon Marcellus Jones III "MJ3," age 11, of Magnolia, took flight from this Earth into the beauty of Heaven's Splendor on Wednesday, May 18, 2011. He was surrounded by his family and friends at the AI DuPont Institute in Wilmington. Mervin, or MJ3, as he was affectionately called, loved life. He was a young man who excelled in football, basketball, and academics. He loved his parents (Mervin Jones Jr. and Tylisha Jones), as well as his sister (Kayla), and grandparents, beyond measure. In addition to his parents and sister, he is survived by grandparents, Glenda and Kenneth Winston, Beulah Jones, Helena and Francis Johnson and Violet Mayfield, as well as hosts of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, at First Pilgrim Baptist Church, Camden, where the Rev. Dr. Dorina Miles will deliver the eulogy. Friends may call Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m., at the church Friends and relatives are encouraged to wear vibrant, youthful colors to celebrate the transition of MJ3 from this life to "Eternal Life." Weighted Balloon Bouquets are encouraged as well as floral arrangements. Contributions in his memory may be sent to First Pilgrim Baptist Church, or direction may be sought from his parents as to where they desire memorial contributions be sent. The family will decide at a later date as to what will be established in his memory. Interment in Barratts Chapel, Frederica. Services of compassion, dedication, and caring provided by Deborah E. Harris-Nock Funeral Home, Laurel.
