Maxine O'Neal Dunning

Maxine O'Neal Dunning, loving wife, caring mother, and cherished Mom Mom, passed away Monday, Mar. 13, 2017.
She was born Oct. 14, 1930, outside Earleville Md., to Albert and Mary Newnam O'Neal. She was a longtime member of the Downs Chapel Methodist Church, where her delicious Apple Dumplings were always popular at the October Church Supper. She loved working in her flower garden each year. She was a devoted farm wife and also worked for over 25 years at the Sudlersville Bank in Sudlersville, Md.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, George A. Dunning, Sr.; her son, George A. Dunning, Jr.; her brothers, Junior and Tom O'Neal; and her sister, Charlotte Pleasanton.
She is survived by sister, Peggy Zehring; brother, Donnie O'Neal and his wife, Barb; daughter-in-law, Lynda Dunning; granddaughter, Apryl Peppard and her husband, Bill; great-granddaughters, Emily and Abigail; son, Gerald Dunning and his wife, Candace; grandson, Josh Dunning and his wife, Allison; great-grandson, Rory; grandson, Brandon Dunning and his wife, Jess; great-granddaughter, Nola; son, Doug Dunning and his wife, Jackie; and many treasured nieces, nephews and cousins.
Viewing will be held on Friday, Mar. 24, 2017, at 11 a.m., in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, Md., with funeral service to follow at 12 p.m. Burial in Galena Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Downs Chapel UMC, Virginia Jones, 6703 Sudlersville Rd., Marydel, MD 21649.
