FREDERICA - Mary M. Palmer passed away Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, in Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 90. Mary was born on July 7, 1921, in Denton, Md., daughter of the late Fisher and Alice (Cartwright) Sutherland. She was the last of nine children. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and an occasional outing to the Harrington Slots. Mary was a life time member of the Frederica Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, George "Mel" Palmer. Mary is survived by four children, Patricia Arsenault and her husband Jack of Rehoboth, Sandra Tracy of Frederica, Gail Reed and her husband Ronnie of Magnolia, and George "Mel" Palmer Jr. of Frederica; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
