Mary "Adele" (Alfree) Garey, 54
GREENSBORO, Md. - Mary "Adele" (Alfree) Garey of Greensboro, formerly of Middletown, Del., died on Thursday, July 26, 2007, in Easton Memorial Hospital, Easton. She was 54.
Adele was born on Aug. 9, 1953, in Wilmington, Del., the daughter of Mary Lynn Shane and the late George "Melvin" Alfree.
She graduated from Middletown High School in 1970.
Adele was an active member of Jehovah"s witnesses and attended the Queenstown congregation.
Adele was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry J. and David L. Alfree; her father, G. Melvin Alfree; her father-in-law, Lester F. Garey Sr.; and most recently her husband of 34 years, Lester Frederick (Rick) Garey Jr. They had two children together.
She is survived by their son, Ross F. Garey and his wife Ashley, and grand-daughter Calie Michelle of Denton; her daughter, Dana A. Rodriguez and husband, Randall, and grand-daughter, Marissa Kaitlyn of Greensboro; her mother, Mary Lynn Shane and stepfather, Franklin D. Shane of Middletown; one brother, John M. Alfree and wife, Leah of Smyrna, Del.; two sisters, Carol A. Ellis and husband, Jim of Townsend Del., and Jay Lynn Shane and husband, Cliff of Smyrna; a brother-in-law, David B. Garey and wife, Kim of Denton; a mother-in-law, Barbara Garey of Easton; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah"s Witnesses, 29250 Skipton Landing Road, Cordova.
Funeral arrangements were provided by Curran-Bromwell of Cambridge.
