BURRSVILLE - Mary Frances Willis of Burrsville, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. She was 92 years old. Born at home in Denton, Md. on November 4, 1921, Mrs. Willis was the daughter of the late George Wise Shaffer, Sr. and Elizabeth Valuntia Maphis Shaffer. Her husband, L. Winfield Willis, died October 13, 1982. Known by many as "Mazie", Mrs. Willis was a 1939 graduate of Caroline High School in Denton. For many years, she worked on the farm with her husband and in 1972, started the Punch Hall Antiques store in Burrsville. She was a loving mother and grandmother who also loved antiquing and gardening. She was a member of the Denton Church of the Brethren. Mrs. Willis is survived by one daughter, Carol Ann Reddish of Burrsville; three grandchildren, Rodney Reddish of Burrsville; Teresa Craig (Tom) of Indianapolis, Ind., and Jay Cooper (Laura) of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four great grandchildren, Conner, Gavin, Henry, and Anna; and a brother-in-law, Marion Tull of Federalsburg. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sylvia Willis Cooper; three brothers, Walter (Pete) Shaffer, Linden (Bud) Shaffer, and George Shaffer; and three sisters, Beulah Henry, Cleda Crain, and Bernice Tull. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second Street in Denton where friends may call from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. before the service.
