NEEDHAM, Mass. - Mary Camp McQuesten of Needham died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, at home. She was 89.
She was a native of Greenwood, S.C., daughter of the late Clinton H. Camp Sr. and Elizabeth Bailey Camp.
Mrs. McQuesten received her education in the Greenwood schools, and at the Draughan School of Commerce in Atlanta.
She then began her business career in civil service, continuing for the next 34 years until her retirement from government service in 1973.
Mrs. McQuesten was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Dover, Del.
She was active in the Sprig and Twig Garden Club, and in the Dover Century Club.
Mrs. McQuesten"s membership in Beta Sigma Phi extended more than 60 years, serving in chapters in six different states as well as Wiesbaden, Germany.
She was preceded by her husband, Gilbert S. McQuesten, Chief Master Sgt. USAF (Ret), a 30-year veteran; four siblings, Charles Bailey Camp, Clinton H. Camp Jr., Peggy Pauline Camp and Virginia Camp Wallace.
Mrs. McQuesten is survived by two daughters, Gayle M. Applegate, Donna M. Gardner; a son-in-law, Michael D. Gardner; two grandsons, Jason P. Wylie, William B. Gardner; one great-granddaughter, Emily Diane Nolen.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. today in J.S. Waterman & Sons & Waring, 592 Washington St., Wellesley.
Committal service 10 a.m. Friday at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, Del.
