DOVER - Marjory M. Moyer, of Dover, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, at Kent General Hospital. She was 93. Mrs. Moyer was born May 3, 1917, in Springfield, Mass., to the late Arthur Small Page and Nena Foster Page. She had been an exchange student in France studying for a year at the Sorbonne and was on the last ship "The Normandy" to leave before the Nazi's invaded. During WWII and until the end of the war Mrs. Moyer was a decoder for the FBI. She had received letters of commendations from both FDR and J. Edgar Hoover. Mrs. Moyer was a Philadelphia school teacher for 31 years at the Widener Memorial School for the handicapped. She was a member of the PSER Teachers Retirement Association. Mrs. Moyer loved languages and spoke French, German, Italian and Spanish. She loved music, played piano and even wrote several songs herself. Most recently she loved spending time with her family and especially her great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 64 ½ years, Frank L. Moyer of Dover; sons, Richard B. Moyer of Dover, and Frank L. Moyer, Jr. of Sacramento, Calif.; daughter, Karen Page Sechler of Dover; brother, Milton Page of Lincoln, Mass.; three grandchildren, Nena Page Craven, Bernadine Karen Sechler, and Frances May Sechler; and two great-grandchildren, Brennan Page Craven, and Logan Richard Gallo. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the United Cerebral Palsy Association, 1660 L Street, NW, Suite 700, Washington, DC 20036. Letters of condolence may be sent and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
