Margaret Scotton deValinger, 101
DOVER - Margaret Scotton deValinger, a longtime Dover resident, died on Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, in Heritage of Dover. She was 101.
She was born in Templeville, Md., the daughter of the late Jonathon A. and Cora Honey Scotton.
She was a graduate of the University of Delaware Women's College, and had been an elementary school teacher at several schools in Wilmington and Dover.
Mrs. deValinger was a longtime member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Dover, and had been a member of the Dover Garden Club.
Her husband of 67 years, Dr. Leon deValinger, died in 2000.
She is survived by four nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Wilmington.
Instead of flowers, contributions may be sent to either Wesley United Methodist Church, 209 S. State St., Dover, DE 19901; or to Delaware Hospice Inc., 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
