Margaret L. Stout, 92

SEAFORD - Margaret L. Stout of Seaford died Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, in Lifecare at Lofland Park, Seaford. She was 92.

Mrs. Stout was born March 26, 1914, in Wye Landing, Md., daughter of the late William J. and Janie (Dudley) Miller.

She was a cosmetologist for 50 years, owning and operating Charm Beauty Shop, Salisbury, Md., for many years.

Mrs. Stout loved to sing and write poetry. She sang praises to God and shared her poetry as often as she could at her church and nursing homes in the area. She published a book of poetry, "Lifetime Memories," giving the proceeds from the sales of the book to the building fund for Bridgeville Church of God. One of her poems won first place in a talent competition for seniors through the Church of God.

Her main hobbies were knitting, crocheting and embroidery. She crocheted many afghans, sweaters, hats, outfits for dolls and other items as gifts for loved ones and friends.

Mrs. Stout was a member and past president of the Maryland Cosmetologists and Hairdressers Association. Her passion was her love for the Lord and his word. She was a member of Lifeway Church of God, formerly Bridgeville Church of God. She was a former member of Community Bible Study when it was in Harrington. She attended that and Bible Study in Lifeway Church well into her 80s. Most of all, she was devoted to and deeply loved her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William J. Lilley; her second husband, Andrew K. Stout; and two brothers, William Miller and Eugene Miller.

She is survived by four sons, William S. Lilley of Salisbury, Charles R. Lilley of Manassas, Va., Rex N. Lilley of Laurel and Courtland B. Lilley of Salisbury; two grandsons; four granddaughters; four great-grandsons; and two sisters, Irene Miller and Helen Slaughter, both of Clayton.

Services will be noon Friday in Lifeway Church of God, 7046 Seashore Highway, Bridgeville, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be in Spring Hills Memorial Gardens, Salisbury.

Arrangements by Fleischauer Funeral Home, Greenwood.
