Margaret 'Peggy' Anne Walker, 85
MARYDEL, Md. - Margaret "Peggy" Anne Walker passed away after her long battle with cancer Saturday, May 22, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loves ones and family at her side and devoted friend Brian Tuxward.
She was born on May 6, 1936 in Linwood, Pa. to John Evans and Marian Palmer Barr.
She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of Marydel Volunteer Fire Company.
She was partner and owner of Walker's Liquor store and Walker's Mobile Home Park in Mardel. She was devoted to her business and family. Enjoyed collecting Angels, sitting outdoors watching the humming birds, jigsaws puzzles, loved to travel, and spending time with family on her front porch.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Walker; daughter, Mary Ellen Thomas; brothers, Robert, Ronald and Allen Barr; sister, Jacqueline Digges.
She is survived by daughter, Peggy A. Jones of Marydel, Md.; daughter, Violet M. Fiori of Marydel, Md.; daughter, Susan L. Iplenski of Clayton, Del.; step son, James F. Walker, Jr. of Mansfield, Pa.; step son, James E. Walker of Hartly, Del.; step daughter, Doris L. Bean of Marydel, Del.; step daughter, Dolores E. Peters of Marydel, Del.; brother, John Barr; sister, Julia Higginbotham; sister, Catherine Hefelfinger; sister, Marian Iplenski; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild and host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Thursday, May 27, 2021, 12 noon at Marydel Fire Hall in Marydel, Del. Family and friends may call at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the Sharon Hill Memorial Park Dover.
In consideration of protecting the family and friends health, for the prevention of the spread, of the covid-19 virus, public health guidelines are in place.
The family request that memorial contributions be given to Compass Regional Hospice, 160 Coursevall Drive, Centrerville, MD 21617.
