L. Ware (Sykes) DOVER - Marcus "Smiley" L. Ware (Sykes), passed away on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011. Marcus was born on March 9, 1989, in Dover. Marcus attended Dover Academy & Positive Outcomes Charter School. Marcus graduated in 2007 from the Potomac Job Corps Center at the top of his class. He graduated with a Bricklayer Certification and went on to work for Foreman Industries. Marcus enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved drawing, listening to music, playing video games, and being out with his friends. He was always "always" smiling. Always ready to help out anyone in need no matter what he was doing. His positive attitude set him apart from many his age and older. Marcus enjoyed life and lived everyday like there was no tomorrow. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles J. Sykes Sr.; and cousins, Robert D. Sykes and Chase I. Sykes. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Joreen Y. Sykes from Dover, currently living in Wilmington; his only brother, Nigel C. Sykes of Dover; a grandmother, Edith Sykes of Dover; aunts, Carmella and Axel Wetterich of Greer, S.C., Dawn and Warren Locke of Newport News, Va.; favorite aunt and close friend, Nikki Sykes of Smyrna; uncles, Charles Sykes Jr. of Smyrna, Roy and Delores Sykes of Dover, Boyd Sykes Sr. of Dover, Michael Sykes of Alpharetta, Ga., Christopher and Tracy Sykes of Dover, and Darryl and the late Helena Sykes of Dover; numerous cousins; and a many close friends. Viewing services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, from 9 to 11 a.m., at Bennie Smith Funeral Homes, 717 West Division Street, Dover, with the funeral immediately following. Burial services will be at Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
