Major Roger Frederick Bulley, USAF, Ret., took off on his final flight on January 31, 2021 at the age of 87, after a brief illness.
He leaves behind his wife Jean of 64 years; daughters, Cindy Mullarkey (Sean) and Susan Bulley; granddaughters, Skye (Orion) and Kellie (Ron and Chacey); grandson, Kyle; sisters, Frances Pook (Richard) of Victoria, BC; and Enid J. Graham (Paul) of Los Alamos, N.M.
He was predeceased by his mother, Betty Shaw Edgar; father, Stanley F.D. Bulley; and beloved stepmother, Joan S. Bulley.
Born in 1933 on the island of Vancouver, British Columbia, he and his father moved to Toronto, Ontario in 1944, then to Fredericksburg Virginia in 1947 where he graduated from James Monroe High School (1950) and attended the University of Virginia. Enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1951, he graduated from flight school, and flew B-47 bombers and C-141 transport planes, including nuclear payloads and transpacific missions during the Cold War. His final assignment was at Dover Air Force Base.
Services will be held Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (RT.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. The family requests that donations be made in memory to your favorite charity.
