CHURCH HILL, Md. - Mabel Foxx Hall of Church Hill died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, in the Chester River Hospital Center, Chestertown. She was 88.
She was born in Cordova, daughter of the late Theobold and Sarah (Redman) Hall.
Mrs. Hall worked as a secretary for several businesses in and around the area.
She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Church Hill, where she served as treasurer for more than 15 years.
Mrs. Hall was also a member of the Chester River Yacht and Country Club, where she enjoyed playing bridge with her friends.
She was also an avid golfer and bowler in her earlier years. Later in life she enjoyed watching baseball on TV and growing flowers.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Francis Marion Hall; one brother, Morgan Hall; and one granddaughter, Donna Rae VanSant.
She is survived by one daughter, Sarah Hall VanSant of Millington; two sons, William C. Hall III of Church Hill and Samuel Dell Foxx III of North East; one sister, Lauretta Rhodes of Queenstown; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown, where friends may call one hour prior.
Interment will be held in Church Hill Cemetery.
