Lynda C. Donavon
DOVER - Lynda C. Donavon went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Seasons Hospice in Wilmington, Delaware, after a brief illness.
She was born in St. Albans, New York on December 27, 1950 to the late Harvey T. Cassell and Marie Cassell.
After graduating from Manchester High School, in Connecticut, Lynda moved to Clayton, Delaware where she met the love of her life, William "Cleve" C. Donavon, Jr.
Married on August 16, 1969, the couple settled in Clayton for 40 years before moving to Dover. This year they would have 52 years of wedded bliss together.
The rock of her family, Lynda enjoyed the water, her yard of flowers, dancing, traveling, and family get-togethers. But most of all, her grandchildren were her greatest joy.
During her life time, Lynda was employed by the State of Delaware, Boscov's Department Store and Eagle Group, from where she retired in 2019, after 30 years of dedicated service as Customer Service Manager.
Lynda is survived by her husband, William "Cleve" C. Donavon, Jr.; daughter, Jennifer Donavon; and son, William "Billy" C. Donavon, III, all of Dover; and three (3) grandchildren, Troy Donavon, Madison Donavon, and Lexxi Donavon; and her beloved dog, Princess. Also surviving to cherish her memories are her sisters, Sally Glazer (Harvey), Vitina Sidote, Theresa "TC" Kaufman (Kenny) and Marie Wenze (Chris); and her brothers, Harvey Cassell (Laurie) and Peter Cassell (Janine); and several nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Faries Funeral Home, located at 29 South Main Street in Smyrna, where memorial services will begin at 7 p.m., pursuant to COVID guidelines.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be sent to your local SPCA, Seasons Hospice (100 Commerce Drive, Suite 302, Newark, DE 19713) or the American Cancer Society.
The family is deeply grateful to the Staff of Seasons Hospice Compassionate Care, Wilmington Hospital.
